The New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition began in 1999 around many meetings of
survivors, clinicians and other stakeholders.
It was formed as a New York State non profit organization in July 2002.
Mission:
To champion men diagnosed with prostate cancer in New York State, to help fund prostate cancer research and to promote awareness of prostate cancer.
Our Mission:
To diminish the global burden of prostate cancer by enhancing local, national, and international advocacy, awareness-building capacities, and access to affordable and appropriate care.
Our Goals:
No person on our planet should be denied access to prostate cancer information, diagnosis or treatment.
The New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition is an inclusive collaboration of stakeholders from New York State. No one is charged a fee to join, and everyone is encouraged to participate, collaborate, and share knowledge and technical assistance.
We are the state-wide leader in facilitating local, state, and national dialogue on prostate cancer advocacy and awareness, as well as media connections.
We promote understanding of local issues through the dissemination of leading-edge news and the development of media, online education, archives, and publications.
We foster efficient and effective local, national,, and international strategic planning through information sharing and partnering among members and other stakeholder organizations.
We strive to develop and sustain a system for delivery of advocacy resources and information to the array of stakeholders who must work together to ensure that the rights and interests of trial participants, eventual users, and communities are fully represented and respected in the scientific and product development processes.
We do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment advice. Patients should discuss medical decisions with licensed clinicians.

The New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition is a grassroots coalition of patient-facing prostate cancer nonprofit organizations. The New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition is a fiscally sponsored project by Malecare, the USA national prostate cancer patient support and advocacy nonprofit organization.
The New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition operates independently from Malecare and is directed solely by New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition members. New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition expenses, which there are few, are covered as charitable support by Malecare, Inc. The New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition’s program priorities are guided by New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition members through a member-led advisory structure.
You can see Malecare’s board and advisors page, audit oversight committee page, conflict of interest, whistleblower, document retention, donor privacy, gift acceptance, sponsorship compliance, nondiscrimination, and AI and data protection statements at https://malecare.org/about
Operation and management costs are low (less than $1,000.00 per year) because we use donated, free, and low-cost digital services and resources. Malecare covers these costs. Occasionally, the New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition creates an online event or research prostate, for which we seek charitable external funding. An unwavering tenet is that external funders have no sway over our programming and activities. All programming and activities are determined by the New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition membership.
Equality:
Our in-person, round-table-style meetings support the idea that there are no elite or minor stakeholders in prostate cancer. All members of the New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition sit together on equal terms. Sometimes we hold open-house-style in-person meetings that may include non-affiliates interested in our work as well as members. And we experiment with creating the most useful and economical methods for sharing ideas and building collaborations.
Our goal is to create open discussions that are idea-provoking, technology-sharing, and alliance-building.
The New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition does not provide medical information or oversight.
Privacy:
When you email New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition or request membership information, your message and contact details are handled by Malecare staff and systems. For patient communities hosted on third-party sites, the privacy and moderation practices of those platforms apply in addition to our own policies. Please review the policies of external communities and organizations before posting health details or personal information.
Funding:
The New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition receives operating funding as needed from Malecare, Inc., a New York nonprofit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization. Malecare’s EIN is 13-4057382. New York State Prostate Cancer Coalition is a separate tax-exempt New York State corporation.
